Ski Area Management just came out with their 2011/12 "Best / Worst Marketing" article. Always interesting to see what the industry has been up to, especially since most of us aren't able to see all the ads, e-mails, web pages, social media posts, etc.

As the article states, much has changed since this review was started in 2004, when print ads and websites were the main marketing vehicles.
The major destination resorts are still advertising to some degree in the vertical publications, but digital marketing and social media have now become major communication streams.
OK!! Took a couple of tries but I finally got a new layout template installed. Looks pretty cool. Turns out there's lots of free templates to choose from. I obviously liked this one because of the ski & snow elements. Make sure you open your browser window wide enough to see the borders!
OK So I have a new blog. Next task is to see how I can dress it up a bit appearance-wise. Stay tuned.
April 3, 2012. OK. Here it is. I just set up my blog site on Google's blogger.com. Although I've read many a blog and follow a few in Google Reader, I've never set one up for myself.
So here goes! I think I'll just get this going now and then work on the layout later.
It's always a wonderment to me that so much online technology and information is available for free today, just for the asking!! And how fast all these various social media platforms are developing and evolving. Makes one wonder what we'll be seeing five years from now....
